Already for the second time I took part in a construction camp together with an international team including refugees. In the medieval city of Ghent in Belgium, the volunteers of the non-profit association “De Koer” are transforming an older building with great passion into a socio-cultural center and meeting place. The large building – a former union and women’s rights house – located in the middle of a multicultural district in Ghent, is in poor condition. In addition to the renovation, a community garden will be created. I especially helped with the renovation of the old cinema, the construction of a new chicken coop and a canopy construction.
