As part of the excellent seminar The Humanization of the City under the direction of Prof. Kerstin Renz, I wanted to seize the opportunity to read eventually Sigfried Giedion’s opus magnum ‘Space, Time, Architecture’. Even if I couldn’t manage to finish the book until a year later, I was able to lay the foundations in that seminar. In the related paper I presented a source-critical study on the so-called ‘humane city‘ by researching the origins of this concept in the transnational debate of the CIAM-protagonists.
